Well I bought the tank new and my tap water is 7.5 if thats of any help

You want to check how the ph is in your tank right now. I don't think your ph crashed but just to be sure.

Well I just checked my Ph and its at 6.5-6.7

Well, it is lower than your tap water. I don't think the drift wood would lower it that much. It could be that your water changes aren't keeping up with replenishing gh and kh in your tank. If those are getting lower in your tank your ph gets lower too! I'm just learning about this myself, so hopefully someone else could help you out better in that. But I'm sure at this level it would not influence the bacteria in your filter!

I suspect that either you forgot to dechlorinate the water before adding it to your tank once, or that something was introduced to your tank that killed the bacteria.

A lot of people here recommend Prime (I think it's by Seachem). I am using right now a store brand kind! Which one are you using?

Store brand I want to change as I feel like its not working I got it for free so I said what the hell but im going to change to prime
