Well i added a bubble stone to Lancelots tank last night mainly for the cories, i added it to the side where he doesn't hang out, but as soon as i switch it on guess what he does  swims straight over and starts playing in it with the pandas, so much for not liking current
he also did a pose which i found cute  shows his colour well

Some of mine like current,,,one in particular swims into it, stops swimming and glides backwards, then swims into it again. Others don't like it and are in currentless water,,they all have their own little habbits bless em. Oh and btw he has current free areas in the tank.

Wow, he looks exactly like my new betta, only bought him on friday. So far hes faring better than the rest did.

Well similar anyway, especially from far away.

yes they do look similar, except yours has longer fins, Lancelots fins haven't changed since i got him i thought they were shorter cause he was young but he's just a short finned VT

is it true bettas only last about a year? i was looking to get some but people have put me off saying they dont last so long, a year or less.

There have been reports of them living up to 9 years in labs. Most I have known live to be about 5 or so, sometimes a bit more . If a betta only lived for a year I'd wonder what was wrong with it.

with bettas that are bought from shops or threw the mail, there is no guarentie of age, as most are adults when we get them. I often wonder if even if after purchase the stress of their life before hand shortens their life.

in shops they are usually a year old when you buy them, but if you get off ebay (particularly Modaz) then he has ages which are between 3-6 months..

i thought most last 2-3 years if they are healthy
