Sick red devil

Help. Our red devil hasn't eat in a month. Scales are raised with what looks like a bruised place on one side. Been trying everything, then tonight, while doing water change, we found two of these alive on top of the water. Any ideas?

Will need tank info, water test results, how ofter do you do water changes and amount, water temp, medications and anything you add to the water, a picture of red devil and tank mates.

I have no idea what those worms are....it is possible that they have nothing to do with what is going on with your fish.

After you respond to everything in retired viking's post, we can start trying to help with treatment.

I'm most concerned about water change schedule and water quality... ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate being most important for starters. Many times disease is directly caused by bad water quality.
