I was able to determine that my mickey mouse platy had swim bladder disease. After rearranging some fish tanks (and taking my two bettas out of two separate tanks and putting them in a bowl and a tea pitcher), I was able to put her in a gallon heated tank with an under water gravel filter. Treated the water with Epsom salt and fed her peas (which she eats like it's no one's business). She is starting to show improvements. Never been this excited for fish poop (just a little last night) She was swimming at a 45 degree angle. She is now starting to straighten out a little bit. Swimming around a bit more by herself. Did a 100 percent change on the gallon tank and dosed it with the salts. I did just over a teaspoon of Epsom salt (I was told to do just under 2). It's hard as an animal lover to see her struggle like this, knowing you've done everything you can do. The only thing stopping me from becoming overly emotional is knowing it's not fatal and she is slowly getting better.
