Good day everyone.
Im new to the board and this is my first post. I have a 50 gallon tank with (1) Dwarf Gourami, (3) Red wag platies, (6) zebra danios, and (6) neon tetras. The tank was fully cycled and has been running for months with no problems until 3 days ago. I recently added the dwarf gourami (no iso. tank here..went right in..I know I know
) Anyways, shortly after i noticed some ich on my platies. I checked the water parameters and they were all in line: 0 ammonia; 0 nitrites, 20 ppm nitrates. I did a 25% water change and began treating the ich with maracide (on day 3 of 5). So far so good until this morning when I see that my Gourami has developed a rather large white discoloration adjacent to his tail fin. I have seen no rubbing behavior from him. Hes been in the tank for 5 days now. It does not appear to be fuzzy like a fungal infection and doesnt appear to be ich either? Ive searched around the net this morning and have found nothing like it. Does anyone have any ideas what it might be. I have attached a photo ( its a little outta focus but shows the discoloration well. Any help or advice on reputable links to check out? Thanks in advance and sorry if this is in the wrong place.
Cheers
