Inxase my lfs doesn't have any esha exit do u no of another White spot I can use with it? I not wots the soonest I can add White spot treatment.

You can only mix esha meds in the uk.
Other uk whitespot meds you can't use with other meds.

I would check the lfs have esha exit. It not buy another brand.
But you will have to remove the hole in the head treatment, before adding the whitespot med.

After looking at various images I have treated my tank with myxazin. 6 discus are fine 1 hasreally bad fin rot and ulcer type things and the other is devolopng similar symptoms. The 2 Ram have sum fin damage andthe clear sPot marks which I believe is a fungus. How long does myxazin take to work? Will the rotting of the fins stop or will I likely see a bit more Damage to them before it gets better

Depends on the strain of bacteria.
Some infections get worse before better.
Should start to see regrowth in say 5 days, if the meds doing it's job.

this morning i added my second dose of myxazin and fed the fish. The discus who has bad finrot and the ulcers/fungus on him as been moving around alot more since i added the meds yesterday, he still likes to be on his own abit more but the fact hes not sat in one place always has to be a good sign.

when i fed the fish i have never seen the discus move so quick and litterally destroy the frozen cube of red mosquito larvea which again i guess is another good sign.

i was wondering if i should be adding 2 cubes at feeding time for the amount of stock i have, 8 discus 3 keyholes 2 rams 1 appistogramma. i feed them 3 times a day at the mo as som are only 2.5inches long.

Maybe add two cubes then. But if they don't eat it all, go back to one cube.

so i came home from work yesterday and the discus with the fins rotting away had even more missing, its now getting close to his body. Hopefully its a case of it gets worse to get better, hes still moving around abit. I woke up this morning to add my 3rd lot of myxazin, it didnt look like his fin had rotted away anymore since last night, what i did notice tho is my water is very cloudy, does myxazin cause this? if not once im done with the meds and add my carbon back will that clear it up do u think or jsut water changes?

Check water stats. Sometimes some meds can knock water stats slightly.
Did you increase aeration with the med.

The problem with uk bought lfs med's they only good on mild bacteria infections.
Once bacteria infection advance there hard to cure.
If it's a bad strain of bacteria he really needs antibiotics. I would only advise using antibiotics in issolation.
All I can suggest it maybe doing some salt baths to stop the external infection.

All gone wrong. Today my tank looked like someone had poured milk into it. I tested the water again and m nitrites were 0.8 and fish gaspin at the top. I stuck them all into my 90 litre tank and they are doing ok. I just set up my 140 liter tank aswell and filled wth to water so j can move my discus over to that.


Hat shall I do with the big tank. I'm guessing the filter couldn't handle the bio load but I don't no why it's gone like this so fast. How much water chane shall I do it? Or do i leave it to run it's cause. This is so stressful

Can you post full water stats please.

50% water change and increase aeration.
Is there plenty of aeration in the tank.
Was the med out of date.

Med was brand new and in date. I got a spray bar in there to air the water it looks like it wrkig well as there is loadsa little bubbles

In the process o the water change I'll keep an air stone running with it.


I did add sum nutrafin aqua plus wth the myxazin the guy in the shop said to coz the aloe vera in it
will heal the fins.

It's nitrite 0.8. Done my wAter change can now see 3 inches into the tank. The bacteria or what ever it is has covered everything. Plants sand and wood. Will I need to scrub them down or will I all eventually be broken down. And dissapear

Just tested now for nitrite after the water change and it's crystal clear so 0 what is happening
