A have recently cycled tank. I went the fishless cycle and waited for a week after the cycle finished before I introduced fish. The stats have remained very good, in fact similiar to those posted below. No signs of a mini cycle.

Yesterday I bought a Siamese Flying Fox to help a small algae problem. He came from a very active tank in my LFS. I introduced him slowly having matched temperatures correctly etc. All evening he seemed to have settled well and was eating well and generally quite active.

However today he seems very reluctant to come out from a small tunnel he seems to have made home. He not eating and really seems unsettled. Anyone have any ideas? I would realy like to sort this before he deteriorates any further.

Stats
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 40
PH 7.6.

I am doing regular water changes.

Hi, what other fish do you have? Edit, sorry its in your sig :)

I know nothing about flying foxes so wont pretend to know what could be wrong, but it maybe that he has found his place and is quite content to defend it - give him a couple of days to adjust to his new environment and he should be fine.

He might just be settling in give him time to adjust.
How does his colour look.

Thanks to both of you. His colour is fine and he is now moving around the tank occasionally. Just a very big change from yesterday. Maybe I´m paranoid, hope so anyway.

Ok, just keep a close eye on him.
Good luck.

Strange thing just happened. I noticed that the pump was not working awfully well and was making a strange sound. So I took it out to take a look. I noticed that it didn´t seat very well within the housing. I readjusted it and switched back on. Immediately the water flow has increased and my SFF and the other fish have much more energy and I think things are maybe OK. Not really sure what has happened here.

Me <------ Newbie so don´t all laugh.

Glad you found the problem.
