i have a betta (cloud) which belive it or not gets along with guppies.....and hates platys! yes odd as it may sound it is true no matter what cloud never EVER had a fight chased nipped or got chased by the 2 guppys, he became very close to the black guppy i had which yes was a male one and has a very long tail, very odd indeed, but yet the platys he hated with a vengence! so unfortunatly i did have to take him out, he now has his very own 25 - 28 Litre tank (unsure on tank volume) but otherwise if i didnt add plattys he would still be int he main tank, so yes if you can get a placid betta they are the coolest roaming about in a big 60Litre tank if i was you, i would get him and just watch closly, then if he didnt get along id move him to his own tank, you cannot NOT have a betta, there so cool
