Siamese Fighting Fish

I agree with the comment that neons may be "friendly" but with fish like bettas those long flowing fish are too much for their nippiness to resist. Someone around here was posting that they just lost their betta who they had been told was OK to put with neons. Keep an eye out for that.

He should be OK if he doesn't eat for a few days while he's settling in. It happens often with bettas. I had a sick one once I couldn't get to eat for weeks and he managed to eke through. Now he's big and healthy.

He's not exactly swimming round the tank like he owns the place, but he seems happy enough. He get's stuck in at feeding time, looking a lot less timid than he did. I haven't seen any of the other fish attacking him yet, so hopefully he'll adorn our tank for a long time yet. He's a real eye-catcher.
