Shubunkin Nipping Goldfish Anus

Hi,

I have noticed over the past fortnight that my 6 month old shubunkin has been nipping at the anus of my 6 year old comet. I can only assume that this is causing my comet some distress.

What is the reason for this and how can I try and stop him doing it?

Hhhm my only guess would be that the 6year old comet is female and has popped eggs outs and the 6month old has seen this and has eaten the eggs it may be trying to get the comet to realise more eggs

If the two fish are have a somewhat large difference in size, then it could actually be the more dominant one nipping. Long bodied goldfish have been known to nip particularly, smaller weaker, goldfish

All sorts of reasons fish shove each other. Tank size to breeding can affect them.
