I have a nice big piece of driftwood in my 20G long planted. However it extends upwards enough that some of it was out of the water. Now it has mushrooms growing on the exposed parts.

What can I do to kill the mushrooms and make sure they won't come back, but also not harm the stuff in the tank?

Why would you want mushrooms, They would look so cool.

Remove as much as you can and spray salt water on where the mushroom is growing
