Hey, quick question about shrimp compatability.

We have one Amano (sadly his friends did not survive the transition from the LFS) living happily in our tank.

We spotted some Ghost/Glass Shrimp in another LFS nearby, are they compatable with Amano? they look comparable in size, but I gather there are differences?

yes the only problem generally with mixing shrimp is breeding, although you shouldn't have that problem with amanos as there fry need salt water to develop to adulthood, i dont think they would be able to make hybrids with the ghosts

Seems the Glass/Ghost Shrimp are a completely different species (i.e. not a substrate feeder) from what I can find! Just wanted to make sure, advice varies on the internet (huge surprise) but it seems that as long as I am careful in making sure Ghost Shrimp aren't small Macros, they should cohabit!

Yes they should be fine, just be very careful selecting the ghost shrimp, many shrimp are marketed rightly or wrongly under that name and many shop employees don't know the difference either. Best bet is look closely at the front nippers even a young macrobachium will have longer arms than other shrimp.
