Before you try to cycle your stingray change the zeolite filter pads it comes with for normal filter foam other wise it will eventually stop absorbing ammonia i had that problem and it nearly cost me my fish.

So, if I get the normal filter foam, should i squeeze out the water from the zeolite into the normal filter foam, or should i just start off new?

Depends how long the filter has been running to be honest. If it's only been running a matter of days then it wont make a huge difference.
But at the same time it wont hurt to try to transfer any bacteria from the zeolite carteridge onto the new filter media.

If you have new foam then just swap it over now. You may aswell. But be ready for an ammonia spike.
