Im thinking of getting API aquarium salt as i got a leaflet in my local pets@home store about comman diseaces and most of the solutions involves aquarium salt and there was a paragraph about it saying it will be the top thing for a medical kit

Hi zain611,

I disagree with the others who have posted here. API aquarium salt is an inexpensive and effective product to use in the treatment of ick, fungus and bacterial infections. True, there are other medications, such as antibiotics, that are more effective, but salt is easy to keep at hand and so treatment can be started as soon as the problems are spotted.

However, under no circumstances would I recommend keeping a level of salt in a normal, healthy freshwater tank. It's unnecessary and can actually be harmful to some fish.

to use as a treatment yes apart from that it is not needed cooking salt is as good lfs are out to make money

Dunno about fish but I no when I get a cut or anything abroad it heals faster when I'm in and out of the sea all the time!
