I notice last night that Neptune seems to have lost a few scales on his back, just before his dorsal fin. It lust looks like whitish areas, in scale shapes. He was fine yesterday when i water changed, I only noticed this late last night. Even my husband noticed it :S Because he is such a dark blue it is pretty noticeable. I don't really know how he could lose scales, UNLESS he has tried to swim through the large shell in his tank - which would be a tight fit! Other than this, he is as active as ever, and still eating like a pig. Should I worry?? Could this be a sign of something else??

phew! I didn't sleep much last night, worrying that my Neptune would be dead in the morning :( I will stop worrying so much now! Think I will take the shell out though, i wouldn't put it past him to have tried to squeeze through it... :p

If you use Stess Coat+ as a dechlorinator, that can help with the slime coat on fish which should assist recovery :good: I believe it says on the bottle that you can double the dose for this purpose :good:

odin's always bashing scales off his head, worried me the first time too, heals very fast though!

Fish, in sterile clean conditions recover VERY fast :) My Guppies tail has completely healed after being shredded only three days ago. :)

Oh good! Am feeling loads better now, wish i had posted this last night - would have got more sleep! So it is just Neptune being a feisty little fish then..... I can well believe that! Baby is so peaceful in comparison! :p
