I was wondering if I should add a support bracket in the center of my 4ft tank?? It's going to be about 30 gal when full.

It did have a glass partition in the bottom where the guy had some sort of filter but he made a bad job of the silicon and it looked messy so I took it out.

I could easily silicon this into the centr just under the sliding lids support, do you think it needs it?

Also if I am getting a metal frame ought this to have central supports too or will it be ok?

Theres a similar post about bracing somewhere else on the forum and the general consensus is that if there is a brace there it is there for a reason.

30 gallons is a huge amount of water and if your tank were to fail because of the lack of a simple brace you'd probably really kick yourself, so yes I would get a brace and fix it on with some solvent free silicone.

:)

Thanks, well I already have a bit of glass the exact width as it was at the bottom of the tank
Also have tank silicon as I'm planning my own 3D background with rocks or something :)

If there was a center brace previously, I would be inclined to replace it. If not, then there shouldnt be a problem, but any support is to your advantage.

Nope as far as I can tell there has not been a center brace. But I think I will just add one just to be on the safe side.
The stand will be getting center support also.

I suppose, it's better to have more than adequate support than just enough?
