Hi Guys,

I've got a couple of tanks and i'll admit, my aqua scaping isn't that great. I've got the planting a little wrong, and what i thought would be short small plants for the fore ground (like java moss), actually grows quite large and tall. I've seen lots of photos where there is sort grass like plants as a bedding and other small plants which don't look much more than 3 cm tall and carpet well (used in nano tanks). Please can someone tell me what plants these are, or good surgestions for forground plants.

Cheers

Andy

Eleocharis parvula
Hemianthus callitrichoides
Glossostigma elatinoides
Pogostemon helferi
Marsilea hirsuta
Staurogyne Spec.
Riccia fluitans
Utricularia graminifolia
Echinodorus tenellus
Lilaeopsis brasiliensis
Lilaeopsis mauritiana
Monosolenium tenerum
Cryptocoryne parva

I've had very little success with anything other than riccia (and that becomes a pain in the butt) - most respond best to high light CO2 tanks but many can be grown under lower lights... I've just not managed it yet.

Thanks for the info Katch, i'll note them down and bob along to the LFS at weekend and see what i can get.

Thanks again

My 3 favourite - Riccia would have to be tied or netted down, easy to grow but high maintenance (it doesn't root or attach)
