After some revision, think it's gonna be:
Threadfin rainbowfish
Emperor Tetras
CPDs
Cardinal Tetras
Sparkling gouramis
Single long-finned GBR
Ottos
Amano shrimp
Possibly other shrimp species, either red or a bamboo shrimp.

For completed plant list, see here (post no. 4) and for layout planning see here, bearing in mind the one plant change mentioned in the topic.

Please excuse all the surrounding mess... Yes, that is a bright red wig you see. Don't ask

Stunning wood. I have some like that in my currently cycling 240L. It's still leeching tannins quite heavily so soak yours for as long as you can get away with. I had to soak mine in the tank as it's quite big and apart from the bath I have nowhere else it'll fit! (hubby has the audacity to want to use the bath for actually bathing in !!! :/ :D )

Re your stocking, nice to hear you have decided to opt for cardinals. I know cardinals/neons are regarded as a bit of a cliche fish these days but a large shoal looks stunning (I currently have a shoal of 12).

Looking forward to seeing pics of your tank once it's set up :)

Big red wig... noodle implements.

I don't know if I'm too young or too stupid to get this

Hahahaha - how dare he! I have a bath at the flat but it has Scott's shower in too... Might just soak it in my parents bath. They have a spa bath thing that does the bubbles and all that jazz and then they never use it  The wood can have a jacuzzi

I did think that about cardinals before that they were so common, but then I saw them in MA today and I was smitten :p

Things are gonna be on hold until the end of this coming week since I have exams monday, tuesday and wednesday, but hopefully after then I can start sorting stuff out properly. I have most of the stuff already or on order, just need substrate and plants

Cpd's don't shoal, they form loose groups.
They spend a lot of time just hanging in the water, so if you want a lot of movement in your tank, they aren't for you,
They're also very shy, any movement & they hide.
They do best in lower temperatures too, around 20/22c
Love the wood btw

Noodle implements = some objects that makes you wonder how someone is going to use and for what. Meh, I've been hanging on TV Tropes for too long.

I'm not bothered about the fact they don't shoal really, I'll have the emperors and the rainbows doing that. Temperature might be an issue - might have to go for neons instead of cardinals. My main concern is that the ram would eat them  But hopefully if the ram is added last... *fingerscrossed*

Ohhhh, I'll spill. I was in a show based on a trip to the zoo and we did a few lion king songs - I was simba :) I had to be held up by 2 guys over the edge of the stage like the circle of life which was kinda scary since they dropped me quite a few times in practise  Then did a couple of other numbers like "I just can't wait to be king" and "Hakuna Matata" :) Was fun. Now I'm just awkwardly stuck with a big red wig... LOL

I sooo loved those cartoons X) And the songs in it. Circle of Life was also one of my favorites. And He Lives In You and Not One Of Us from LK2.

I know. I'm supposed to be an adult and beyond those kinda things. Not happening :p
Meh, being an adult is boring. Like a former friend of mine said, it's better to keep a part of the child you once were in you.

Sounds good to me ;)

On another note, does anyone know if MA will get a fish in for you? They have rams in normally but I'm looking for a long-finned one and wondered if they would source me one?
