Shimps .. Fun Thing Or Worth It?

Just had a look round the prices range from about £15 for 10 ( baby 1/2 ") or about £2.50 each adult
By the seems of it they breed fairly easily

might have to look into these when tank setlles down after new fish arrivals

why should i get rid of my tiger barbs and swordtail fish, do they eat the shrimp or do they excrete large amounts of waste?
we have alredy told you they get to big and tiger barbs need to be kept in groups of 6 to keep down agression and you need to have 2 females to every male with the sowrd tails.
I DONT HAVE TIGER BARBS!!! THEY ARE BARBUS PENTOZONA PENTOZONAS!!! THEY ARE SHY FISH AS THIS IS WHAT I HAVE FOUND OUT WHEN I RESEARCHED!!! I HAVE ALSO READ THAT THEY ARE NOT BAD COMMUNITY FISH...ITS THE TIGER BARBS WHICH CAUSE MORE PROBLEMS!!!

Yea my nitrite needs to go down first...then ill probably get corys, maybe shrimp

theres no need to get angry. well they cant be that good community fish if they are nipping your other fish and the sowrdtails still need to go.

they only nip when there is food...although the nipping has started to decrease. i think they were just afraid during the first few days...and why do the swordtails need to go...they are fine.

anyway...

back on topic - do fish eat baby shrimp? would that be an effective shrimp control mechanism or not?

Hey guys guys chill a bit!!!!!
shrimp remember the shrimp
any how im off to watch a few fish then pop dvd in
catch you all in morning with fish tank stats

well the two that seem most common around here are cherry and ghost I think...

Im assuming angels are ones that will - they seem quite keen on anything that's smaller than themselves!

back to the shrimps.... i have about 40 ish cherry and 4 amano and 2 rock shrimps in my tank and they are great!!!!! constantly cleaning the plants, wood, substrate etc etc. fun to watch, something a little different what more do you want...... :good: the babies get sucked into my externals and i find them when cleaning it out and put them back in the tank, lol. i used to have blue rams and they did eat the cherrys but not seen anything else eat any. nothing goes near the amanos as they are now about 3 inches long and the rock shrimp even bigger.
go on get some you know you want some............. :good: and corys cos theyre wonderfull too :good:

I had like 10 adult cherry shrimp, then had 200 babies, then for some reason they all died :l + the adults, oh well

heh just gotta persuade my hubby - small shellfish creep him out lol, apparently they look at him funny :shifty:
