Hi all,in the end I did move her (my yellow lab), last Wed and she's just spat today.

So far I can only see two, one in a rock hole and one in a fake plant.

I put a tiny bit of food in for her, which she ate straight away.

I'd like to start the fry on Hikari first bites, but when? Will I have to wait until I remove her?

Can I feed her some pea later or will it be too soon considering she hasn't eaten much?

She doesn't look underweight, she seems happy and active. Shall I move her back to main tank at the weekend, slowly increasing her food until then?

Thanks

Vicki

congratulations :D

has she defintely spit all her fry has she can take them back into her buccal cavity, with you only seeing two she may still be holding,
does your fry tank have a bare bottom ie no substrate has it will make it easier to keep the tank clean, you can offer some small food to the fry just leave for a couple of hours then any uneaten just vacuum out of the tank.

if she has defintly spat all the fry i would move her back into your main tank asap.

There are at least 3 now, I would say she's spat them all as she's eating normally and she doesn't have that holding look about her.

There is sand on the bottom of the tank... Although I've seen two of the fry coming out to eat mums food so think they'll eat up if I only put a little in at a time.

I know some people say feed her up before putting back in main tank, would that only apply if she's skinny?

Thanks

Vicki

Thanks :) I moved her last night, she's doing ok but the male chasing her again so I assume it wont be long before she's holding again.

Definitely just 3 fry, doing well :)
