Shelving

I'm looking at getting some industrial wire shelving to hold a 29g long (36" long) and a couple of 10g tanks.

Now I've seen this done with a lot of smaller tanks... but was wondering if the 29g long is pushing it? I think after everything's said and done it would weigh 350lbs. It would go on a middle rack.

I have found a wire shelving unit holding 600lbs/shelf and was thinking of getting 36 x 18.

Then I would put a wood board under each shelf (3/4" or could I go for thinner?). Or should I do styrofoam? Or both?

As an update...

I have found a heavy duty steel shelving unit which apparently holds 4000lbs evenly distributed over the shelves.

The shelves themselves are particle board (I know, a big nono!!) so I was going to replace it with 3/4" slabs of wood, coated to protect from water.

But I was wondering if this is a bad idea for aquariums as it's just a wood board resting on an inner lip?

Yeah... I'm definitely going to go with the wire one instead.
