About a month ago I setup a 2' tank, Volume of 45 Litres, for a pair of L. Stappersi(Meleagris) aka. Pearly Occelatus.
These are quite rare here in WA and I only know of a few other owners. The Two I bought seemed to unluckily be both of the same gender as there are no signs of breeding and there are some territorial issues.

If anyone could take a stab at what gender the shellie is, that'd be great.

Hey Kuhni :hyper:

What did you do to get the water specs right? as Im considering making a ten gallon shell dweller tank :good:

Hey Quo.

My Water supply has a ph of around a 7.5, to this I add the reccomended dosage of Aquatopia "rift lake conditioning salts" and my fish have acclimated well to it. I just add the reccomended dosage for the amount of new water i put in during a water change.

FYI, tank raised speciemens do fine in lower pH water. What they do best in is pH that is stable. My stappersi are in regular 7.x tap with no problems, other than their crabby personalities of course. ;) If you don't need to, don't adjust the pH unless you are able to keep up with it regularly.
