current set up is a 200 litre (Can be upped to 330litre as it is not fully filled) with the following fish

1 Balloon Molly
1 Sailfin Molly
14 Neon Tetras
Bleeding Blue Tetras
6 Rhombo Barbs
Plec
Elephant Nose

Would a shark fit in to this set up or not? I love RTBS or the RTGS's, Im aware the silver (Bala) shark is out, and even though i love the the irridescent sharks there out too.

cheers people

The only other shark i know is jaws and he is defo too big for your tank.

I would fill the tank up for sure why loose 100 liters of space?

If you like Bala Sharks what about Denison Barbs aka Rose Line Sharks :) A school of 5 or so would work well - Equally though a Rainbow Shark would work in there as well.

You do right by staying away from the Bala Sharks and, 100% never ever ever even contemplate getting an iridescent shark as they grow to huge huge sizes.

I saw on your profile you are from Lanchashire - if your anywhere near Wigan check out Pier Aquatics as they get a lot of great catfish in I have 2 Agenisous sp.Blue from there and they look awesome just like little sharks. BUT be careful they dont sell you monsters as they have a lot in and I can imagine them pushing to some people who might not be aware of their adult size. Great shop though

Are the rainbow sharks not aggressive like there darker brother the RTBS?

Generally speaking Rainbows are considered more manageable than RBTS - Rainbows have red on all their films.

What about checkerboard barbs? They are not too far off from Bala sharks in looks, but stay small, so a decent school would fit.

Otherwise, another vote for rainbows out of the true sharks..

RTBS and Rainbow sharks might, just, fit in. but both (more the RTBS) can be aggressive and need lots of room. i had an RTBS in the same sized tank you have. it turned out the tank was too samll, and i had to pass it on. they may be fine now, but how about in 2,3,4,5 or more years? yes we all are going to upgrade at some time, me too. I've been hoping to get a 6 footer, for 4 years. its still not here. so you can rely on upgrading. most times it simply never happens.

on balance, if you must, try a Rainbow. they are a bit more timid then RTBS, so you tend to see then less.

thanks chaps, will certainly look at the rainbows, thanks for the help
