Sexing Tiger Barbs

heres my tiger barbs can you sex these two for me?

i think i have 3 males even though i asked for 1 male and the rest female
i have 3 (waiting to get paid to get more) a regular, green and albino and i think the albino has less vibrant fins cause he is albino ill post a pick for you later if i can get him lol

Never trust the LFS to sex fish for you. Especially if the fish aren't livebearers

Just gotta point out the males and females yourself when you're there. It's hard to tell which is which when they're young, but as they grow older, the red markings grow much more pronounced on the males, and the females are much more wider bodied.

Ultimately keep in mind that unless you're breeding them, the genders of the tigers isn't going to change anything. I never bothered balancing the sexes on my tigers, I just picked em up and threw em in and it's good.

Even if you are breeding, though, I'm not sure how much the sexing ratio is going to matter.

Easiest way for me is the males have red (dark orange) noses and the females don't. Females are much plumper and slightly bigger than males too.

Also, I'm darn near certain the plant that's closest to the front is not aquatic.

Centered Barb is male. Hard to tell with the one on the left. At fist thought it was female because of the more pale nose coloring, but it is showing green morph which I thought only males get during aggression.
I could be wrong about that though...both sexes may morph when challenging the pecking order.

oh im not breeding it was just my human thought of having a ratio

my lfs have never realy let me down beforas the people who run it are a family which means its a family business and not a hudge chain of shops but oh well thanks for the help though

nope nope nope. The green morph is permanent. t's just the color of the barb. There are three colors, gold, normal and green. He's got a green tiger and a regular tiger.

Don't worry about the ratio, then. They'll be fine regardless of how many males and females there are.

Thanks...can't remember where I read that, but while trying to find it I found that the tyndall effect is the real reason that sometimes I see the green metalic on mine and at other times not.

In regards to its body shape, it also looks male.

Is its eye always that pale? or is that just the camera? Something looks wrong about it.

Just the camera his eyes are a normal pinky colour ( u know albino colour) he always looks different in my photos cause o his albino ness lol

I've never seen an albino tiger barb with red eyes.

Hhhmm thats strange lol

But mine must be a true albino lol but hes healthy and happy just colourless lol
