Got a diddy Blue Acara today. I think it may be female because of the dorsal fin being quite round but wondered if any experts could tell the difference?

And a few of my Bolivian Rams because they've really coloured up now.

It probably is a blue acara BUT that description could easily be used to describe a GT as when they are juvis, they are almost identical.

Hopefully it isn't a Terror!

Don't wanna have to rehome the titch - got quite attached to him/her already

Even if it is, you should get away with it, with plenty of plants and territories.

Oh, I thought they were incredibly aggressive?

The little Acara can be territorial over 'his' corner but mainly when a food tab falls down there  All my cichlids reckon that corner is their corner though, it's quite funny  He's not nasty though - just shoos them away, doesn't bite.

post a few pics in say a months time, then we should be able to give a pretty accurate id IMO.
if it does turn out to be a GT, your rams will be in trouble

If he does turn out to be a GT he'd have to be rehomed, I love my Rams, they are definitely staying :) Though I do reckon he is one. I will post some more pics when he gets a bit bigger and we'll go from there :D

I've got three young GT's at the moment. They seem to have a reasonable temperament.

emphasis is on young tho
most mature GTs i've seen would trouble a fully grown oscar nevermind a juvenile bolivian ram
