Yep haha I put a couple in for feeders and the just can't get caught... Small cichlids have no chance either I don't get it

Tut tut...

As for your JD, it seems to have a lot of markings on its face, so maybe you're right with your i.d.

Probably to stop him eating his very expensive Silver Dollars...

Anyway, i reckon the JD is a female... :look:

The same one that's in your sig
an oscar?

why feed goldfish to an oscar?
blame the LFS that has a tank labeled 'feeder fish' spreading false info

hackmaster fish food is much more nutritionally benifitial to your oscar than goldfish, yes he's a predictor in nature but goldfish are definitely not on a wild oscars menu, fish food is also better value for money

Hit the nail on the head minnnt it was a lure to keep them away from my other fish

if your oscar is going for the other fish then maybe its time to think about a change of stock. feeding it feeder goldfish will probably make things worse if it gets use to eating live fish as it will go for other fish as food....

also if the goldfiah isnt in its correct settings ie temp etc etc then it will be very stressed and may even spread disease throughout the tank if it gets too bad, if the oscar is constantly chasing the goldfish without catching it then this will add to stress levels of the feeder.

its your tank and fish but as said by joller there is more nutrition in dry foods if you buy decent products than a goldfish. to me its not worth the risk of passing on disease into the tank from the goldfish and defo not worth having a quarentine tank set up for the feeders to ensure they are ok before adding them.

you have some nice fish and it would be a shame to lose some or all of them to a passed on disease from a goldfish. my oscar has been a nightmare to stock around due to his hate for bigger fish but its something you might have to rethink if yours is going for the others....

He's calmed down now... He doesn't chase anything since I rescued the other Oscar they just swim side by side

That's why I'm upgrading to a 6ft...

I feed them on tetra min flakes, hikari cichlid gold, meal worms bloodworms and mussels

All varied throughout the week...

Have a look in the cold water section and read the thread about mixing them and make your own mind up...

The goldies have been in there for 2 months ish now and no disease that's noticeable has arisen...

They do wonders for sand substrate too, constantly sifting it
