Severums Wanting To Spawn But Cant!

i have a 5ftx2ftx2ft tank with 2 pairs severums, 3x red finned cigar sharks, 1 18" sailfin plec and a upside down catfish.
1 of the severum pairs are wanting to spawn but wont due to other fish getting in there way and the plec goes and sits on there stone they have chosen, they have chosen several different stones now but the plec still goes on there stone lol.
what i want to know is some ideas for a tank divider that i can put in, i have some plywood here that i can use if it will be ok to put in the water, i do have a smaller tank which i could put the severums in untill spawning has finished then return them to main tank but its only 2ftx12"x16" which i would think is 2 small to put the severums in for spawning.

most local hardware stores sell sheets of perspex (acrylic sheeting). You can cut it with a sharp knife or electric jigsaw. Cut a section out of the middle and glue some shade cloth or plastic fly screen over the hole. Then use some airline suction cups to hold the perspex in the tank.
You can also use glass but it is hard to modify so perspex is better.
