Are you sure they have been eaten? after they are hatched, my heros atleast, move the fry to another place and sometimes moves them again until they are free swimming. Usually in my case it has taken ~5 days after the've hatched. Then it is fantastic to see a huge swarm of fry with the Heros defending them. I have Heros sp red shoulder. I guess they are also called severum rotkeil?
