Set-up complete

I’ve it all set to where I’m pretty happy. Still cycling, about half way I think. Got some feeder shrimp today, guy at the store said they should be fine. Can’t put my guys in yet but I’m happy with it so far. Just wanted to show it off some.

Looking great! You really pulled off that gravel/sand look! What did you use for a divider? What size tank is it?

I suggest putting up a black background. It will make your plants and fish's colors pop more. (I use black trash bags. You can use those or black cardstock)

Thank you! I just got some slate pieces off amazon and rinsed them off. It’s a 55 gallon.
My mom commented on a back drop. That’s my next step. Literally forgot about it until you mentioned it! Not sure I have any black trash bags but that’s a great idea!

Good startYou need to add some anacharis to give it more of a jungle/forest look. I know a guy who deals in anacharis and he is almost giving it away, Maybe you could work out a deal with him. Don't tell anyone but it is @PheonixKingZ

My issue with anacharis is I have a fire mouth who shreds plants. That is harder on the filter then the bigger pieces I can pick off in the tank. I was looking at it though.

I had African Cichlids that tried doing that with plastic plants, would make a mess of their tank at least once week.

55g? That's cool.

Yes, a black background will make your tank look better overall. I personally use the big black contractor bags.
