Okay, I'll be getting a 55 gallon very shortly because I am moving my Ropefish to a larger tank so she can grow. I went to a LFS the other day and saw this really nice pair of Green Serveums in a tank. I also wanted to put some nice
discus fish in there also. Will all of this work out? I plan on having like 2 or 3 Discus fish and two Green Serveums, plus the Rpefish... I'm new to New World cichlids so, bear with me.

The discus wont work in that set up, they will be terrified of the severums and rope fish. Leave the discus out and it will be fine.

Severum, ropefish...yes

Severum, discus, ropefish....no

yeh the discus are too peaceful for the other fish

Sevs and discus do well together...myself and several very experienced keepers have had them together successfully...

but that tank would be too small.

i dont disagree with what blueice says, but do have both fish thrive i wouldnt put them togeather, i would give them both there water needs.

apart from the issue of water, what would you do when the severums are breeding? they're not the nicest fish to be around!
