Serial Killings Of Livebearers

k my friend has had two suspicous deaths resently, In his 10 gallon tank he has 2 female mollies 2 corys and now only one platy and a snail there was another platy,That was found dead this morning as stoped at his house to check the waters stats and every thing was really good.and when we found the body of the fish the snail was latched to it eatting it,This same exsact killing happend one month ago and same thing happend stats were clean,And the fish that died was the replacement for the dead fish,And was a young adult.

Any ideas???

water change frequency and %
gravel cleaning practices
filter cleaning practices
chemicals added

yes you are right i just figured out why they died,He did a water change and didnt add anything to get rid of cemicals,Cause he has city water
