On my way home today I turned a corner and there was a truck on the side of road and two people out picking up a entertainment center. So I stopped to help them pick it up. It was all busted and I told that it really stunk that it was broke. Then the lady said on this isn’t the bad thing and she walked around the truck and I followed and on the other side there laying on the road in about 3,000 pieces was a 300g aquarium. Tank, hood and filter all gone. The rope broke during the turn and the entertainment center feel one way and knocked the tank off the other side.

Well, if they didnt want it they should have said! I'd have given it a good home!

That makes me feel sick :/ I can't imagine, but i would sure be ticked at the person who was driving :X

That really bites... I would be highly upset. Oh and I applaud you for stopping and helping people you didn't know. It's not very often that you see people try to stop and help.

Yea it wasn't a pretty site. They told me they would take there fish to the LFS till they could get another tank set up and ready for them. I tried to help with houseing but there fish was to big for my tanks.

Just the expense of replacing the tank would kill me. Fortunately they didn't have the fish in the aquarium at the time and have a place to house them.

If they could afford the tank, then most likely they have either home owners or renters insurance that will probably pick up a good portion of the tab.

My home owners insurance would pay for anything, minus my $250 deductible, at replacement cost. ;)

I've never had insurance so I don't know what all it would cover, or whether this would be included, seeing as it occured outside the home.

A good homeowners/renters policy covers the items that "belong" in a home, not just the home itself.

I.E. if I'm moving my belongings are still covered.

Some don't though, but the auto insurance may pick it up also. Many full size truck insurance provides for the cargo. :)
