this is a bizzare one, i bought prime via ebay and the seller sent me a email today is it just a ploy to get me to buy more or is it true, it said

Right now a legal squabble is going on, and this will most likely be the last weekend that you can buy Seachem products at great prices on eBay, and possibly anywhere. Unfortunately for all of us the UK importer has threatened all eBay and Amazon businesses to remove all Seachem and CaribSea brands before this coming Tuesday lunchtime, or face legal action in court paid for by Seachem themselves.

So, if you are interested in buying Seachem or CaribSea products at our usual prices, here's the link to our eBay store...

Unfortunately it's very likely that before Tuesday lunch time our eBay store will have it's Seachem and CaribSea items removed. It's also unlikely that Seachem or CaribSea will appear on eBay again.

It is possible that there is a contract with all buyers from the importer that they will not re-sell online.

Or possibly that the sellers are purchasing from a re-seller maybe in Europe or Asia rather than the UK importer.

A quick search on Googlae shows this has been ongoing since at least 2006.

The UK importer tells the retailers i.e. shops how much to sell items for and will not allow them to sell below this price. The shops are obviously upset that the same items can be bought up to a third cheaper online at EBay and Amazon and so the importer has been threatening to stop these online sales, therefore 'protecting' the shops and their own profit margin.

I happen to be in the US so am not subject to UK restrictions but many of our members do live in the UK. You may have helped some of them immensely.
