How do you dose this stuff its like super concentrated 5ml for 200litre i only do like 20-30-40litre water changes

just put 2 ml in then over dosing wont do any harm as it will just remove nitrite or nitrate if you add too much so its a good thing generally just add roughly 2ml to that amount of water and that will be enough

If you are using buckets to refill your tank then you can just add about 5 drops to the new water (9 litre bucket). But if you are hose piping your new water straight into the tank, then you should add directly enough Prime to treat the whole volume of the tank (according to Seachem)

This is unnecessary. You only need to add enough to treat the water replaced. Otherwise you are just gradually building up more and more and more unused dechlorinator in the water.

I don't know Andy. This is what I read from their website or forum some time ago. Can't remember the reason behind it.

Those organics it mentions will bind to heavy metals. Many people have been running large tanks successfully for many years only using dechlor for the water changed.

It's little surprise that the Seachem site recommends you use more of their product, is it? ;)

And on the science side you can get into the whole "do mature tanks even need dechlorinator at all?" debate...

hey now, andy! don't dismiss the psychological benefits of dechlorinator

back to the original question: simply scale down how much you need to add. 40 L divided by 200 L is 1/5, so you would need to add 1/5 of 5 mL...

division saves the day again! :P
