Looking for some new foreground and mid ground plants for my 55G that are from the SE Asia area of the world. My tank has about 4WPG of CF, pressurized CO2 injection, and is fertilized daily.

I've got some Rotala Macrandra and Green Temple (Hygrophilia corymbosa) in the background of my tank currently. I'm kind of looking for some kind of grass like mid ground plant to maybe cover up the lower areas of those two plants as they aren't the most pleasing to look at and then I'm trying to find some kind of covering foreground plant. Fast growers would interest me more than slow, I don't mind the constant gardening required of fast growers and I already have to cut back the Rotalla Macrandra and some Rotala Wallichii I have in the tank at least once a week to prevent them from covering the top of my tank.

Thanks for any suggestions folks.

some low, grassy type plants include:

Acorus gramineus
Blyxa aubertii
Blyxa japonica

other midground plants include:

Barclaya longifolia
Ceratopteris thalictroides
Cryptocoryne affinis
Cryptocoryne balansae
Cryptocoryne blassi
Cryptocoryne ciliata
Cyperus helferi
Lindernia rotundifolia
Microsorium pteropus

:good:

All the information I can find suggestions that Acorus gramineus is not a true aquatic plant. I can't find much information though so if someone can confirm/deny this I would appreciate it.

Looking around I also found Acorus pusillus, but this again seems to be a bog plant rather than a full aquatic plant.

Plantgeek.net also has a note for Blyxa aubertii saying that it is sensitive to Flourish Excel, does anyone know if this is true also for Blyxa Japonica?

yeah, Acorus gramineus looks non-aquatic.

Sorry, i found a site which listen loads so i just c&p!

Does anyone know an online store in the US that sells Cyperus helferi?

For some reason I'm having a hard time finding it, I ordered it and some Acorus pusillus from thatpetplace but they are out of the Cyperus helferi right now.
