scum on water

Since going to work this morning I have ahd a scum on the top of the water, i have removed it best I can but it seemed quite thick anyone know what it is?

the tank has no fish in it yet, just going to do a water check

Have you been adding anything to the tank, just remove it with kitchen paper towel

no nothing has been added tot he tank at all

Not sure why it's there, but just place a paper towel on the waters surface and it should take it off.

You havent added dechlorinator or any additives recently? sometimes too much of a product will have this effect.
