Scum On The Surface

Recently bough a jbl e900 external filter and attached the spray bar. Ect and the water was fine on the surface, I have recently changed the spray bar to a standard output and I appear to have some sort of scum or residue on the surface with bubbles I can't see why, I have added medication to the water to treat whitespot would this affect the water in this way?? Really want an explanation to this problem I I don't like it when things are not to perfection in my fish tank. Thanks Spence

Do a few large water changes and see if that clears it up. Some additives can foam up the water a bit. Also, how is the surface tension looking? It could be that you don't have enough movement at the surface as well.

The only additives I've put in a whitespot medication and stress coat when I did the last water change, the surface tension looks fine there's quite abit of movement but only on one side of the tank the scummy foamy stuff is at the other end of the tank, do you think I should put the spray bar back on?? Or put the outlet further deeper in the water so there is little surface tension??

Did you put a lot of stress coat in? I dumped in half a bottle by mistake one time and it made the water bubbly. I would just do the water changes and see if it improves first before worrying anymore about it.
