Screwcumber's ?

i have just purchased 2 of these from eBay and placed some cucumber on them,the fish love it,2 quick questions if i could please.
1.how often should i put cucumber in the tank for them?
and
2.what other type of things can i put in the tank for them,the website says pretty much anything,but i cant believe that,what type of things are everybody else using please?
PS i have a normal trigon 350 community tank.

i feed mine cucumber once a week and vary it by giving them zuchini courgette as well. How often i suppose depends on the number of fish you keep and what kind but someone else will be able to give you a better idea

mine get cucumber , courgette, potatoes , lettuce(not all in 1 go) every other day and leave it before i go bed and take it out the next morning screwcumbers are a good idea but u could have saved some money and just use 2 plant weights stuck into it

just remembered my fish love shelled peas to just mush them up a little and pop them in and theyll sink

i thin those gadgets are exensive so i stick weights in mine! or i make a 'kebab' and thread cucumber/lettuce etc on a spoon handle and drop that in the tank! dont leave food in there too long mind as it disintergrates and dirties the tank
