Hello

Just purchased a second hand Jewel tank but got it home to find many scratches on the glass - I know this is a long shot but is there any way to remove these scratches or is it not worth the effort ? - very annoyed :(

Cheers
Jack

If the tank is less than 55 gallons it's not worth the time or money to polish the glass.

Can you turn the tank round, if it's only one side?

Thanks but scratches on both sides - really bad - thinking of getting a replacement soon :(

some tooth paste and elbow greas will fix this.
or tooth paste and a Dremel pollisher, is quicker.
tooth paste is amongst the finest of grinding pastes!

true, it takes time, but costs only a few pence.
works on car windscreens, too! (which is where i found out about it.)

Thanks very much - will give it a try
Cheers for the advice

Thanks for the toothpaste suggestion - tried yesterday and got loads of the little scratches off

Cheers
Jack

i wouldnt advise using toothpaste, or any other type of cleaning agent on the inside of your tank, no matter how hard you try, you will NEVER be able to rinse it all off.....toothpaste/cleaning agents in aquarium water = not good

Tank is empty - powerwashed it out in the back garden today - no sign of toothpaste residue

On the inside, a lot of scratches become less noticeable once the water's in - it flls them in.
