Scissortail rasbora

I bought 4 R. caudimaculata (also known as Red Scissortail or Giant Scissortail) about 20 years ago. At 2" they didn't look very interesting so the shop had reduced them to a clearance price. Mine grew to 6" and are probably my favourite fish I ever kept. I had them for 10-15 years and despite watching out, I've not seen them for sale since.
I never particularly liked R trilineata as I find the slightly translucent body to be rather unattractive. The Red Scissortails have large scales and a yellowish body colour that looks fabulous (in my opinion!).

So glad you posted this. I've never kept R. caudimaculata and often wondered about them. WetSpot and Aqua Imports have had them on their lists from time to time.

you are in luck as wetspot has them now though where one would put 30 6 inch fishes i have no clue.
