I'm a big fan of using nature as source of inspiration in aquascaping. So with this in mind here's half a dozen photos I took on my recent trip to Snowdonia in Wales.

A beautiful part of the world I'm sure you'll agree and yet more excuses for me to invest in a decent camera. These were taken with a £75 Olympus 5MP compact.

how much of the stone did you swiupe for your next tank???

AMAZING.... AWESOME...... UNBLEIVABLE!!!!!

WONDERFULL PICTERS MAN...

I'LL MAKE A TRIP FOR THAT PLACE...

George, those are great photos. That is a beautiful place.

llj :)

That is going to be your next aquascape inspiration? :hooray: (i couldnt find a smilie that was humbly bowing!) That will be truly unique! :good:

Lovely pics George :) especially like the last one, the composition I really like, the focus being the foreground rocks but the background hills really give it depth, very nice. And also a great inspiration for layouts. I've opted for recreating a natural scene when I redo my nano.

Thanks for sharing

Sam

Pics are fab, last one is my fav :) I have the Olympus 8MP compact. Looking at your pics I need lots more practice with mine

Nice shots man, reminds me of lungfulls of fresh crisp air, i like that, auctually very reminiscent of many places in the West of Ireland.

Thanks everyone.

I forget how beautiful nature can be sometime as I live in a built-up area. This is another reason I love a well-aquascaped planted aquarium, to get closer to nature.

Ahh snowdonia.

I spend most of my days off without the misses walking round there taking pictures at least once a month if not more.
Last big mountain peak was Glydi fach, you would of seen that looking west from Tryphin!!!

There is a place about 10-15 min drive from there and then about a 45 min walk down to some old mine shafts hidden amongst pine trees and old oak tress, if you like moss, there is loads of boulders and trees coverd in the stuff. When i go home ill post some up here for you to see.

There is also a good walk at Abba falls, plenty of fern and water fall shots to be had!

Im looky to have an LSR but its a 35mm so getting pic onto disc is costly but the pictures are of good quality.

I have a pile of photos that i have for exactly what you have, insperations from nature.!!

A quote that people who know me say that " Graeme is allways looking for something" and its true, you have to open your eyes and look or you will see nothing but the path at your feet.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH Gods own country :D
Next time your down this way check out Swallow and Aber Falls especially after a rain storm .
Nice pice bud.

Yeah but if you visit Swallow falls, dont pay  ...... walk on the other side of the river and see it for free :D , the place where you pay is for lazy people. I cant understand why people would want to pay to see one of natures freebies CRAZY!!!!, i refuse to do so, Betws-y-coed is a nice starting point for a hike around Snowdonia.
