Hi...finally caught him. Uh...I know the lighthouse thing ain't the 'natural look', but hey, I've got kids. We all know that this is a crayfish. He's about 3 1/2 inches long and has been very unaggressive towards my tankmates. Happy New Year. Frank

Hi..believe it or not, he came from Liveaquaria.com. The LFS's around here didn't have any invertebrates. I found the site while exploring this new hobby (of course, I'm getting addicted). They are a bit pricey, but, everything I've purchased from them arrives healthy and strong. I haven't lost any fish they've sent me to date, including Turquoise Danios, Bosemani rainbows, Topsail Platys and 'Lester' the Lobster (named after a colleague of mine). It's great watching him nail the pellet. F

What else is in the tank with him...? The light house suits him perfectly.

His tankmates are 2 Bosemani rainbows, 6 turqoise danios, 3 painted tetras, 2 julli cats, 2 angelfish, 2 wag swordtails, one pleco.....mostly middle and top dwellers. I've watched the jullis and they swim clear. SH

you're not ....I did my reading....I"ve read the posts....I know from little acorns grow mighty oaks. I also know that they don't grow that big overnight.....they are safe under my care and if they get too large, I'll provide a larger tank. I have the room to add more tanks and will when I get more experience. Thanks for the warning tho'...I know that Bala's and some Plecos go that route too. Frank

Thanks FAF.....a week after I got him in the tank, I went to check on him in the morning and thought he was dead or eaten. There on the bottom of my tank was a soft, collapsed, bluish transparent 'lobster'. Apparently, he had MOLTED overnite and seemed to almost have doubled in size. I had to fish that stuff out and it reminded me of the skin on the floor in the first Alien movie. LOL.Frank
