Saw Something Different Today...

while on a search for rainbows, i returned to a LFS that i usually frequent and saw on their betta wall two VT males that were entirely see-through, except for the body of course. they had no color whatsoever on their fins. even the pectoral fins and the BEARD were see-through...and the body was not "white" but simply discolored...and they were ALIVE!!! their eyes were not albino though, regular black and very active...

unfortunately, i dont have space for any other males, but they were incredible...at least for me.

what causes them to be discolored/see-through like that?

Yep Cellophanes. Did you take pics? If you search cellophane bettas online you can probably come up with some similar ones

they are very cool. i was tempted to buy one a while back but couldn't justify getting another betta

haven't seen many around. definitely more rare in stores.

nope sorry! didnt anticipate wanting to take a picture so i left the camera at home, and my cellphone is out of commission so i had no way! i'm going back on thursday for more rainbows, i'll take a pic then if he's still there!

exactly what surprised me...i shop around a lot for bettas, and even when i'm not shopping i'm looking at them, and this is the first time i see this type! shame i didnt have where to put him...$15 for a VT too, thats the most expensive VT i've ever seen!

yikes! price gouging. the two that i've seen were standard $3-4.... it was ....... realllllllllly ..... realllllyyy hard not to get one
