got the sand into my tank today, and its looking soooooo good :good: so i was wondering, should i be expecting any changes in the tank, mini cycle, algae blooms etc. am expecting my test kits through the post this week (finally went for the saliferts) so when i come back from holiday whats my next step gonna be? assuming the tank is fully cycled by then, which i think it is already tbh, do i get cuc & invertebrates then coral and then fish or fish before coral, i was thinking it might be a good idea to get some corals (softies only atm) definitely zoas, i want loads of zoas  and let them get established before introducing fish. so what do you think

You will probably get some discolouration and probably some red hair algae on your sand, don't be tempted to turn it over too much just leave it be and let it run its cycle, it will go away in a few weeks.

CUC first, monitor their behaviour and test your water params regularly, then slowly introduce your fish and eventually your coral. Personally I would let the tank settle and establish before you add any coral unless you do good weekly wc with a good pro reef salt brand.

Expect diatoms from the silicates in the sand - your cuc will take care of them though. Years ago people used to put corals in first as they have little bio load - so go for it, no problem as long as those stats are good :good:

ok about the diatoms, but would the stuff already living..... nay thriving in the tank be doing so if the water wasn't up to par, this isnt an excuse for not testing as the testing will be going ahead soon anyway, but just a general question
