The one common floating plant I'm yet to try. Floaters are great nitrate sponges since they can use Co2 from the atmosphere and are fast growers . They will make oxygen, but not for the water in the aquarium. Make sure you don't get a dense mat of it, as it will block light for other plants and gas exchange.
Probably my all-time favorite floater: Grows like duckweed but a whole lot easier to control, and it's big enough that you can clean up around it, and it doesn't gunk up your filter intakes. Really nice looking leaves and roots, too. Good choice.
