No, I'm in the US, darn
I'd like to get my hands on some, but like I said, I never see them around here.

From what I have read I thought that they were easy to get in US- They are certainly cheaper when you see them on American forums! Nip down to Mexico and catch yourself some! :shifty:

I wish I could! :hey:
Haha but like I said maybe I need to go to a specialty pet store around here that are all about cichlids.
There are a few, but they're all about a 30-45 min drive away -_-

Oh well, I'll make a trip when I have nothing else to do!

Salvini are my favorite CA cichlid. I used to have a pair about a year or so ago. They had at least 6 batches of fry. Sadly the female died and the male wouldn't spawn with any females I put with him so I found a new home for him. Then I got into Goodeids lol.

What state are you from? I am from the USA. I have two local pet shops that can get them in.

Oh ok. I am from Illinois as well. Have you been to Sailfin in Champaign IL? They get a lot of uncommon fish and have great stock of all animals. It's really a great store but it's a bit out of my way since I don't have any room for new fish at the moment. If I did have room I would for sure take the travel down there more often. I am roughly 2 hours north of Champaign. I was just there this past Saturday and they didn't have any Sals in but I am sure if you call them they could order for you. I have seen them there before.

Eghhhh, I just looked up how far a drive Champaign is and it's way too far from me. 3 hour drive
Im located 15 minutes from St. Louis Missouri, Champaign is up north from me.

I don't think i'll be making it there anytime soon.
Unless of course, I ever found myself up that way for some special reason,
Thanks for the info though!:good:

Oh wow. I didn't think it would be that far from you but I guess it is on the other side of the state. St.louis is a 3 hour drive for me. If you know you are going up that way sometime I would call them first and see what they have and also see if they can order some in before you go up. Just a thought.

I am sure St.louis has a pet shop that can get them in. Missouri has a fish club site you could try there and see if you can find someone that has them. If you go to pet shops in St.louis or around there ask if they can order them and if they have had them in. I am sure there is a place. Salvini aren't rare but also they aren't common like Convicts either. If my pet shops can get them in I am 100% positive a St.Louis shop can. In my area it's very hard to find anything good. I just find it better to find breeders online and order from fish businesses online. Oh your welcome! I am happy to help! How many Salvini are you looking to get a hold of?

Here are some sites that you can try:

www.tangledupincichlids.com is Jeff Rapps in New Jersey. He always has them in. I have purchased from him bunches of times. He is a great guy and has beautiful fish! He is an excellent shipper as well! A bit expensive but well worth it!

www.aquabid.com is an auction site and there are Salvini posted on there for sale all the time as well.
There is even a seller on there that has a business in Washington or Oregon and he has Salvini all the time. He ships and from what I have heard he does a great job. The seller name is Wetspot and you can have him add you to his e-mailer and he e-mails you his new stock list once a month. I am on his mailer and he gets a lot of cool fish.
