So, my friend and I were in class today and I'd just learn about the way a Saltwater and Freshwater fish's organs work to aid in oxygenation of the blood and other organs (basically how the breath), so I'm telling my friend about it and he asks me an odd question.
"Over a certain period of time would it be possible to acclimate a saltwater fish to be a freshwater fish?"
At first I'm thinking no, because the saltwater fish's organs excrete the salt and absorb the freshwater, but now I'm thinking it's possible because saltwater fish do need freshwater in their systems... I'm so confused!!!!! (lol) what do you guys think? Over a period of say 6 months to a year would it be possible to slow acclimate saltwater fish to be freshwater fish??
