Salt Bath

Would a salt bath be harmful to a german blue ram?

Something is going on with her mouth and I have no idea what it is. I'm wondering if its just some bacteria that a few salt baths would kill, I've heard people recommend it for bettas. Obviously don't want to treat until I know what it is, and definately don't want to try a salt bath until someone says it won't kill her

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. There has been something there for a day and 1/2 and I want to nip it in the butt
