My Sailfin Molly is so energetic, had him now for 2 weeks and he gets on well with the platys & gouramis but he keeps on swimming up/down the tank, this is not all the time but quite alot, the temp of my water seems fine and I live in a hard water area so he must thrive from the conditions, is this quite normal?

Check water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
How many gallons is the tank.

AS LONG AS WATER PARAMETERS (Ph, AMMONIA, NITRITE) ARE OK DON'T WORRY IT'S QUITE NORMAL.
My mollies and guppies did it when moved into a new tank,. They are just exploring their surroundings and checking tank boundaries. After a while, they will stop doing this

mollys need a pH of about 7.8 it could be the pH
