You can read about my rescue sage here http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showto...319&hl=sage I treated him for velvet, and hes no longer itchy and flicking, hes gaining weight, but I'm afraid with everything he's gone through that hes giving up... He spends all of him time floating in one of the top corners, hes starting to lose color, hes barely eating, he just looks... sad. And I'm not sure what else I can do, he's in a heated 1 gallon with bi weekly water changes, 3 days ago he had a bubblenest, now he barely moves. I really think he's worn out from being sick so much, and that he's giving up... please everyone, cross your fingers for him!! Prayers wouldn't hurt either :-( :-(

Oh I'm sorry Jade! *Hugs* Poor Sage. I'll certainly pray for him AND cross my fingers. Boy, he really is beautiful.

I just looked over at him and he was nose down in the gravel not moving, I tapped the glass and he jumped and swam in a circle then went right back nose down in the gravel in the back corner... :-(

I gave him a full water change and hes doing a tiny bit better :good: I think he was reacting badly to the velvet meds, but now hes flicky again

Good thinking with the water change! I'm glad to hear he's showing a bit more life.

poor sage. you can get him to pull through.
maybe a special treat? toy? hiding place?

i hope he gets better.

thanks guys! He has his plant and his favorite treasure chest that he used to sleep in a night, but he doesn't do that anymore either...

Aww.  I've been keeping my fingers crossed for him. Could it be a case of inflamed swim bladder that's causing him to nose-down do you think?

No I don't think so, cause he swims just fine. This morning he's a bit more active :D I haven't tried feeding him yet though, he hasn't been willing to eat lately

Yay! Gotta love good news. :D Maybe he's devoting his energy to healing and just needs a bit more time befor he'll start eating properly again.
